5 January 2018
We were delighted to see the children return safe and well from the Christmas holidays this week. We have gone straight into a very exciting whole school project about “The Owl and the Pussycat” and look forward to more fabulous work being produced across the school.
Key Stage 2 Film Club
We held our first Film Club for a while last night which was very well attended, with children thoroughly enjoying squash, popcorn and Nativity 2. We look forward to the next showing next term. Thank you to all who helped, especially Mrs Lawman-Smith for organising it.
All children across the school have today enjoyed the visit of M and M productions who entertained the children with a pantomime telling the story of Cinderella. (Oh yes, they did!) There were many smiles and cheers in the hall as the prince and Cinderella lived happily ever after.
Congratulations to 6CW who retained the KS2 class trophy for the last week of term and the Christmas holidays and 1H and 2B who shared the honours for EYFS/KS1. Over the holidays, there were two entries on the World and UK Hall of Fame which resulted in the presentation of three new badges this week. On Wednesday, these awards, the Oscar Owls and all the certificates that had been earned over the three week period since our last award ceremony were presented. Well done to all the children who have been working hard on Mathletics!
Flu Immunisation Programme
The School Nurses returned on Wednesday to complete the programme that was interrupted by the snow before Christmas.
Y4 Condover 21 – 23 March 2018
Unfortunately, the dates of this visit have had to be changed. A separate letter has been sent home today with Y4 children. It is vital that these forms are returned by the specified date please (Wednesday 10 June).
Golden tickets are back.
Every Tuesday & Thursday from next week until the end March your child has the chance to win a free ticket to the Telford Ice Rink. For a chance to win all they have to do is have a school meal or sandwich bar meal on the named days. There will be 6 winners per week. The tickets will be given out each Friday in assembly.
Also, please can you ensure that dinner money envelopes have the child’s full name, class and the amount of dinner money in the envelope on the front. This week there have been two envelopes with no names on.
Curriculum letters for this term for Years 1-6 accompany this week’s newsletter. Click here to download.
Next Wednesday, our choir will be taking part in the Young Voices 2018 concert at the Genting Arena in Birmingham which promises to be a fabulous occasion. Spectators’ tickets that were ordered have now arrived and can be collected from school office – please bring your payment with you when you collect them if you haven’t already paid. There may be a few spare tickets if you would like any extras – please contact the office.
The 100% attendance certificates for last term have now been organised and will be given out next week. The 100% attendance stickers for last half term have been sent home today.
Y4 swimming commences on Tuesday and will take place every Tuesday for 10 weeks, which means the last session will take place on Tuesday 20 March. Letters giving more information about this were sent home with the children yesterday.
