Welcome to Language Class

Children in Need 17.11.23

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you may already know, this week is this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal Week. John Fletcher of Madeley Primary School is excited to be joining with many others around the UK to help raise awareness.

Children are welcome to come to school on Friday 17th November in their own clothes.

Due to the cost-of-living crisis, parents are not expected to contribute but if you would like to donate, you can do so here;

Donate using the ‘70701’ shortcode (Campaign dates: 31st Oct 2023 to 30th Nov 2024) –

Text the word ‘FIVE’ to 70701 to donate £5

Text the word ‘TEN’ to 70701 to donate £10

If children have PE on Friday (Y3 and Year 1) they will need to wear sensible footwear.

For further information please see https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/donate/

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Miss E Harrison

Class Rules and Weekly Timetable

Thursdays are our Activity Days. These are led by the children’s interests, seasons and theme we are looking at. We do a range of activities including: cooking, forest school, art  and crafts on these days.  Please look at weekly messages to see if the children need to bring in any specific clothing.

Curriculum Planning

This Half Term we are basing our work around the Allan Ahlberg books The Jolly Postman. You can read along with the books on the links below.

Talking Books

The Speech therapists add activities focussing on their targets to your child’s talking book .

Please do these activities at least three times a week at home.

Repetition is key, so doing activities over and over again will help the children cement those new steps they are making with their speech and language targets.

Please let us know how they are getting on with the activities at home by writing comments on the sheet in the back of their books.
