Year 3 Newsletter 13/05/22

What a fantastic week in Year 3!

The children have really worked hard, as they applied their Maths knowledge towards questions on subtraction and addition. During History, we learned about the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb and the archaeologist that discovered it, Howard Carter. This work was also embedded into the students reading and writing tasks, as they began to plan how to write a biography on the great man himself. With the trusty green screen in hand, Year 3 were transported to Egypt in 1922! The children got in front of the camera and re-enacted Howard Carters discovery of the tomb.

The children sketched and began painting self portraits in Art. This has led to some wonderful pieces of work, which the children should be proud of. During Science, we continued our theme about light and how it is processed by the eye. For Computing, Year 3 managed to continue drawing an Egyptian death mask and finally in P.E the children finished the week with a game of rounders.

The weather is beautiful and it looks to continue next week. With that in mind, please can parents ensure that children bring their water bottles in with them next week.

Have a truly wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Mr. Jones, Miss Brotherton and the whole Year 3 Team.
